Starbucks Has a Secret Harry Potter Frappuccino — and We Know How to Get It
With more than 170,000 items on its secret menu (yes, really!), even the biggest Starbucks junkie is likely to miss a few every now and then. Our latest discovery from its extensive lineup, however, just may be the Golden Snitch of coffee.
That’s right, Potterheads: this one’s for you! Say hello to the Butterbeer Frappuccino: an icy, Harry Potter-inspired delight meant to taste just like the slushy wizard brew Hogswarts students might find at Hogsmeade.
While your barista may not know the recipe off the top of their head, being that it’s not a regular menu item, they should be able to whip up the magical treat with just a few ingredients.
As the coffee chain told NBC Chicago, “If a customer would like to order a beverage that is not on our menu, we recommend they know the recipe.”
Lucky for you, we just so happen to have it! All you’ll need to do to make one appear like magic is to order a Crème Frappunccino with caramel and toffee nut syrups, plus caramel drizzle poured over top. Then, poof! Instant frozen Butterbeer goodness.
If you happen to be stuck in a deep freeze at the moment, not to fret: You can also get a hot version with the Butterbeer Latte.
Slightly different than the Smoked Butterscotch Latte of 2016, which combined steamed milk and espresso with smoked butterscotch sauce and topping, the Butterbeer Latte can be had by mixing up whole milk, caramel syrup, toffee nut syrup, and cinnamon dolce syrup, with an added dallop of whipped cream and salted caramel bits for a flourishing finish.
Our only regret in 2018 thus far is that we didn’t know about this sooner!
