Some of the main cast members of Star Wars: The Force Awakens just surprised fans by sharing new character posters on social media. Oh, things are about to go nuts in Star Wars fandom world. But take even a cursory glance at these posters–they're lame. Each image is a close-up headshot of each actor with some cheesy graphics not unlike the VHS cover of Face/Off. They're all covering one-half of their face. Leia's has a striking resemblance to late-'90s Star Trek: Voyager. Comparatively, the trailers for the film are tasteful and stunning in their own right. And compared to the vintage posters, and even the posters from the prequel series, these are pretty bad. These look like they were made specifically for a 7-11 collector's cup. And yet, people will still go mad for them.

Already, people on the Star Wars Reddit page are brainstorming what the eye-covering theme is:

"Exactly. Its bothering me. I guess instead of cutting off hands now we're losing eyes?"

Oh, and don't even get started on Carrie Fisher's caption: "Oh Luke, don't ask for the moon, we have the force,"which people are already comparing to the "That's no moon quote."

Redditors are also analyzing the shit out of each character's weapon:

"Rey's poster is amazing. Who's hilt is that? Reminds me of Darth Maul'sEdit: I know its her staff but she must have scavanged it from somewhere to build it. I doubt she even knows that its a lightsaber."

Again, there's no Luke Skywalker (where could he be!!??). Check them out below and try to figure out what the dimensions of each character's head has to do with the relative radius of each planet he/she is from:
