‘Space Cowboy’ by Kacey Musgraves Takes Home the Award for Best Country Song at 2019 Grammys

At long last, it’s officially time for the country singers to take the stage.

The 61st annual Grammy Awards took place tonight at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, and “Space Cowboy” by Kacey Musgraves took home the award for Best Country Song, which was written by Luke Laird, Shane Mcanally and Kacey Musgraves.

The track was up against a slew of worthy nominees, including “Break Up in the End” by Cole Swindell, “Dear Hate” by Maren Morris and Vince Gill, “I Lived It” by Blake Shelton, “Tequila” by Dan + Shay and “When Someone Stops Loving You” by Little Big Town.

This isn’t Musgraves’s first win at the 2019 Grammy Awards. The singer also took home the award for Best Country Solo Performance for “Butterflies.”

The Grammys first debuted the Best Country Song category in 1965. Previous winners include “Broken Halos” by Chris Stapleton, “Humble and Kind” by Time McGraw, “Girl Crush” by Little Big Town, “I’m Not Gonna Miss You” by Glen Campbell, “Merry Go Round” by Kacey Musgraves, “Blown Away” by Carrie Underwood, “Need You Now” by Lady Antebellum and “Mean” and “White Horse” by Taylor Swift.

Welp, these lyrics will be stuck in our head for ages.
