Sowaha RTW Fall 2021

Sowaha is a new venture from Issey Miyake alum and Somarta designer Tamae Hirokawa. The brand incorporates elements and influences from traditional Japanese dress, while also utilizing artisanal production methods.

Main message: Layered crossover necklines, obi belts and beautifully printed silks were borrowed from kimono but used in more modern, wearable dresses. Textured dusters and three-layer jackets laid perfectly across the body to complement the pieces worn underneath.

The result: The compact collection of just seven looks was impeccably crafted and mesmerizing to look at, with its gorgeous, nature-inspired prints and subtly graduated shades of pastel hues.
