Atlanta Hawks center Dewayne Dedmon has exercised his $7.2 million player option for next season, league sources told Yahoo Sports.

Dedmon, an active 7-footer, averaged 10 points, 7.9 rebounds and 1.5 assists in 62 games and 46 starts for the Hawks. He signed a two-year, $14 million contract with Atlanta last offseason, earning all of the deal’s $900,000 in potential bonuses in 2017-18.

Dedmon has established a role as a reliable starter or reserve, joining Atlanta last summer after a strong season in San Antonio. In 286 career games, Dedmon has averaged 5.5 points and 5.7 rebounds per game.
