On Wednesday, Taylor Swift dropped a previously-unreleased breakup song from the Fearless vault. Titled “Mr. Perfectly Fine,” the song appears to reference the end of her relationship with a certain Joe Jonas, who is now married to Game of Thrones star Sophie Turner. In a tongue-and-cheek post on her Instagram story, Turner shared her take on Swift’s new song. Over the Spotify-generated visuals for the track, the actress dryly wrote, “It’s not NOT a bop.”

Swift responded with a quip of her own. In a repost of Turner’s IG story, Taylor noted that the actress is “forever bending the knee for the [king] of the north.” In a previous slide from the singer’s Instagram story, she acknowledged that her previous songs did, in fact, spark drama–but she couldn’t help but release the Joe Jonas diss track, which has now been given backhanded compliments by his current wife.

“Me in 2020: life is chill, writing songs based in fiction to avoid drama, feeling pretty grown up,” Swift began. “My 2008 music from the vault, in a goblin voice: “REELEEEEEEASE MR PERFECTLY FIIIIIIINE.” According to the song's lyrics, Jonas was "casually cruel," with everything "revolving around" him. Meanwhile, the song's heartbroken Taylor was "Miss misery since" they broke up.

Joe Jonas, on the other hand, spent the morning documenting a few rounds of golf on his Instagram story, unbothered as ever.

Turner’s positive reaction to the new song is no surprise. Both Swift and Jonas have spoken on the record about their relationship–according to the both of them, there is no ill will. They were both quite young when they dated from July to October 2008, with Jonas breaking up with the singer over the phone. Directly following the breakup, Swift told Ellen DeGeneres that their phone call breakup lasted 25 seconds.

Speaking with DeGeneres again in 2019, Swift said she was sorry she put Jonas on blast. “That was too much. Yeah, that was too much. I was 18. We laugh about it now. That was mouthy, yeah, teenage stuff there.” Jonas, on the other hand, has said that both he and Taylor moved on and are friends.
