Solid Heart Symbol Pumpkin Stencil

Need a simple, lovely centerpiece for an intimate dinner? Try carving this heart design in a small pumpkin and lighting it with a votive candle. Enjoy glimmering candlelight through a heart-shape window during dinner, then round out the meal with a slice of pumpkin pie!

To carve:

1. Print out the free solid-heart stencil pattern, and tape the pattern to the side of your cleaned-out pumpkin. With a pin tool, pierce along the heart outline, creating tightly spaced pin holes in both the paper and the surface of the pumpkin.

2. Remove the stencil after the entire shape has been outlined and cut out the shape by using a skinny, serrated knife to saw along the pin holes.

3. Pop out the heart shape by pressing on it from the inside of the pumpkin. Discard the carved shape.

4. Place a battery-operated candle inside the pumpkin cavity to brighten your design.
