Soap Stars Who've Gotten Into Real Life Trouble

Former General Hospital and Days of Our Lives star Tyler Christoper was arrested yesterday for public intoxication. The actor has been very open about his struggles with alcohol addiction. Tyler's addiction is what reportedly lead to him being fired from Days Of Our Lives earlier this year.

Tyler's addiction and recent arrest have made the news and could have an effect on his career. He isn't the first soap opera actor to find themselves in trouble. Over the years, many actors and actresses have had a string of problems.

Brenda Dickson

The Young and the Restless fans remember Brenda Dickson from her iconic role as Jill Abbott on the CBS soap opera. Dickson originally played Jill from 1973 to 1980. She took a brief hiatus from the show for three years but returned in 1983. However, in 1987, Dickson was fired from the show for good.

Since her departure from the show in 1987, Dickson's life has been filled with ups and downs. The star's acting career went downhill and Dickson claimed that she was blacklisted from Hollywood due to her former bosses at Y&R.

The actress has been divorced twice, and it was during her second divorce that the actress found herself in legal trouble. Dickson refused to cooperate with a court order, and was forced to spend three months in a Honolulu prison. Dickson claims the reason for disobeying the order was because she didn't receive a fair hearing in the original divorce proceedings, and the judge's decision left her broke.

Dickson wrote about her professional and personal problems in her autobiography My True Hidden Hollywood Story.

Michael Muhney

Michael Muhney became a hit with The Young and the Restless fans when he signed on to play Victor Newman's youngest son Adam Newman. Prior to joining the soap opera, Muhney worked in primetime. Veronica Mars fans remember him from his role as Sheriff Don Lamb on the mystery series.

Muhney's switch to daytime television appeared to be successful. His acting earned him praise from fans and the actor was nominated for a Daytime Emmy. However, after more than four years with the show, Muhney was fired in January 2014.

Rumors circulated that Muhney was fired because he groped a female co-star. Muhney denied the allegations, but the media attention caused a lot of negativity and derailed is acting career.

Vanessa Marcil

Vanessa Marcil has always been a soap opera darling. She's played the role of Brenda Barrett on General Hospital on and off for over 20 years. In 1998, she made the switch from daytime to primetime when she joined Beverly Hills, 90210. It was during her time on the Fox soap opera that she would meet her ex-boyfriend actor Brian Austin Green. The couple's son Kassius was born in 2002. A year later the couple split. Since then, they've been engaged in a series of legal battles. Green sued Marcil, claiming she owed him $200,000. The two have also fought over custody of their son, recently Marcil revealed that Green and his wife actress Megan Fox have cut Kassius out of their lives.
