Here’s how it works: After adding your preferred contents to the mug, go to the Ember app on your smartphone. There, you’ll see the current temperature of your drink. Slide your finger across the dial at the bottom of the screen to select your desired temperature. Now, when your drink begins to cool down, the mug will ensure that it remains at your set temperature.
Once your drink has reached the set temperature, you will receive a phone notification indicating such. Then all that’s left to do is enjoy!
The Ember mug comes with a charging coaster for all-day use. Once you notice the battery is low, plug the coaster into an outlet and then set your mug on top to recharge wirelessly. When it’s fully charged, the glowing light at the base will turn green.
As a personal tip, I recommend shutting off the mug’s heating function when it’s not in use. To do so, hold down the power button located under the mug for a couple of seconds. The light will then disappear, indicating that it’s turned off.
Also, don’t be afraid to wash your smart mug. It can be fully submerged in up to one meter of water and is safe to hand wash. Avoid placing the mug in the dishwasher.
