You Can Sleep on a Net Over the Ocean at This Maldives Resort

Sleeping out under the stars can be an amazing way to spend a vacation. Falling asleep under the stars over the ocean, however, can be downright magical.

The Grand Park Kodhipparu in the Maldives is already known for its luxury villas and views to die for, but this hotel has one thing that you’d be hard-pressed to find anywhere else: special nets that are suspended over the ocean. And yes, you can sleep on them.

These suspended nets work a bit like a big, flat hammock. Guests can lie down on their backs and look at the stars, or on their stomachs to see the beautiful, crystal clear waters below. They’re probably best for sunbathing, but there’s also no reason why you can’t camp out there at night.

After all, listening to ocean sounds can be a very gentle way to fall asleep, as long as you’re not freaked out by the idea of suddenly plunging into the water in the middle of the night. Luckily, these nets look sturdy enough to support one or two people, so there’s little chance of that.

According to the Metro, plenty of guests have been sharing pictures on Instagram that look almost too beautiful to be real.

The Grand Park Kodhipparu has a total of 120 beach villas that all have their own built-in net bed to lounge in, with the exception of the Beach Pool Villas, according to the hotel website.

But every villa also has an indoor bed for people who aren’t that excited about sleeping outside, as well as private bathrooms with indoor and outdoor showers, spectacular views, and direct access to the beach, the lagoon, the reef, or the ocean, depending on where your villa is located.

The hotel itself is equipped with a gym, beach club, yoga and meditation deck, infinity pool, water sports center, and lots of places for kids to enjoy as well.

Prices for each villa start at $406 per night. For more information or to make a booking, visit The Grand Park Kodhipparu website.
