How to slash 100 calories a day without even noticing

Cutting calories doesn’t have to leave you hungry. Over time, small tips and tricks can take a big bite out of your waistline.

Here are seven ways to slash at least 100 calories a day that you won’t even notice until year’s end when you’ve lost 10 pounds.

Blot pizza. Gently dabbing the grease floating on top of pizza with a napkin will reduce the fat as well as 50 calories per slice.

Since the average American eats 23 pounds of pizza a year, you’ll be doing yourself a favor.

Toast berries. Top toast, pancakes, and waffles with mashed berries instead of jelly or syrup. Besides the significant calorie savings, you will be consuming a lot less sugar.

Awaken eggs. Whether for breakfast or dinner, eggs are nutritious until you smother them in cheese. Try perking them up with a bit of hot sauce instead of relying on cheese for flavor.

Spritz oil. Oil, even the exalted extra virgin olive oil, clocks in at around 120 calories per tablespoon.

Buy a spray container and mist it instead of pouring directly from the bottle. The impact is substantial.

Dress up dip. From tossing on a salad to serving as a dip, salad dressing is a calorie bomb.

Lighten it up by mixing ranch or Italian seasonings with plain Greek yogurt. This retains the flavor and creamy consistency.

Combining Dijon mustard with red wine vinegar, garlic and spices is a tangy option too.

Wrap a burger. There are many tasty choices when replacing a bun, but if you’re partial to bread, then try it open-faced.

A burger can also be sandwiched between two grilled portobello mushrooms or wrapped in a small whole grain tortilla or lettuce leaf.

Bump Bagels. By enjoying your usual breakfast sandwich on an English muffin instead of a bagel, you will trim at least 200 calories.
