Skier Jumps Sketchy Crevasses In Glorious Spring Conditions
Professional skier Sascha Geist had quite the season in his home of Argentina.
His Instagram is loaded with jaw-dropping clips, but one of his most recent uploads is so good it deserves its own article right here on POWDER. Watch as Geist leaps over two massive crevasses in the clip below:
From Sacha Geist:
"We tackled the Argentinean peak of Monte Tronador with its three summits, beginning our 5am journey at Pampa Linda and ascending to the summit by 10:30 am, where we descended down the north face, covering 18 km and gaining 2,370 meters in elevation on a snowy late October day in Patagonia."
If your version of "fun" is ascending 7,775 feet of elevation at five in the morning to leap over not one, but two crevasses... you might be Sacha Geist.
Watching this video for the first time is quite the experience, no?
That second crevasse comes out of nowhere! I've watched the clip several times now and I'm still somehow surprised by that second jump.
Bravo Sacha Geist, bravo. Thank you for letting us share your incredible skiing with the world. We're all better for it. #powdertothepeople
