Outdoor media company, well known for their in-depth gear reviews and buyer's guides, Blister Review, posted some sombering news regarding the passing of one of their team members earlier this morning.
"With very heavy hearts, we announce the loss of a dear friend and key member of our Blister team."
The caption explained that "Eric Freson died in a backcountry skiing accident on Sunday afternoon. He was loved and looked up to by so many of us in the Gunnison Valley, and beyond."
Eric was a Blister Reviewer with many ski and bike gear reviews published on the site.
The Blister team wrote, "our world has been rocked. Eric was a force. He was singular. And he will be greatly missed. More to come. Rest in peace, Eric."
36-year-old Eric Freson was an experienced backcountry skier, and was with three other skiers in the "Playground" area of the Anthracite Range west of Crested Butte on Sunday afternoon when the avalanche was triggered and Freson tragically passed from the incident.
Eric was revered amongst the Crested Butte community.
Our deepest condolences go out to Freson’s friends and family at this time.
