Mike "The Situation" Sorrentino has officially been released from prison. The reality TV star got out today, after serving his eight month sentence at Otisville Federal Correctional Institution in Otisville, New York.

"We are elated to finally close this chapter of our life," Sorrentino and his wife Lauren Pesce told People. "Thank you to our family, friends and fans for the continuous love and support during this time, it brought us so much peace and comfort. We look forward to continuing our life as husband and wife and working on baby situations! We truly believe that the comeback is ALWAYS greater than the setback and we can’t wait to show the world ours."

Sorrentino reported to the facility back in February to begin his sentence, having pled guilty to one count of tax evasion in January. He was additionally sentenced to 500 hours of community service, and fines totalling $133,913. He filmed his trip to prison and his wife Lauren shared the video on social media, in which he utters what has now become something of a catchphrase: "The comeback is always greater than the setback."

TMZ reports that a camera crew was spotted back at the house where Sorrentino filmed Jersey Shore: Family Vacation with his castmates before beginning his sentence, prompting speculation that this long-awaited comeback will be captured on film for a new season of the reality show. It goes without saying that Pauly, Vinny, Ronnie, Snooki and JWoww will want to celebrate having their friend back — and when they do, things are almost guaranteed to get wild.
