Singer Meat Loaf denies climate change and says Greta Thunberg is 'brainwashed'
Meat Loaf has hit out at climate change activist Greta Thunberg, calling the 17-year-old “brainwashed”.
The comments came after a rare interview with the Bat Out of Hell star, who has taken a step back from public life since having a health scare back in 2016.
But the singer and actor pulled no punches, telling the MailOnline: “I feel for that Greta. She has been brainwashed into thinking that there is climate change and there isn't.
“She hasn't done anything wrong but she's been forced into thinking that what she is saying is true.”

The comments about Thunberg come amidst the tragic Australian bush fires which leading scientists say is being caused by record draught and record heat.
Meat Loaf isn’t the only person to have criticised the teenage Thunberg.
United States President Trump, who worked with Meat Loaf on the "Celebrity Apprentice" back in 2010, has previously called the Swedish-born activist "ridiculous" suggesting she needed to "work on her Anger Management problem".
Last year Jeremy Clarkson accused her of “causing young children sleepless nights”, while Piers Morgan has repeatedly mocked on TV and on social media, calling her “melodramatic” and even doing an odd impersonation of her on Good Morning Britain.
Thunberg, who was named Time’s person of the year, does not wilt under the pressure or criticism of men old enough to be her grandfather.
Thunberg retorted to Trump’s words that she "wouldn't have wasted my time" talking to him if their paths crossed.
Elsewhere the teen was able to make fun of herself after she was made the subject of a viral meme on Twitter.
British actress Amanda Henderson was appearing on Celebrity Mastermind when host John Humphrys asked her: "No One Is Too Small To Make A Difference is a collection of speeches made by a Swedish climate change activist.
"What's her name?"
Henderson, who stars in the TV medical drama Casualty, looked stumped and shook her head before answering: "Sharon?"
The clip went viral and Thunberg took it upon herself to amend her Twitter handle to ‘Sharon’ in response to the meme.
