Since breaking out on Aug. 8, devastating wildfires on Maui have left thousands of local community members displaced, with an estimated 2,170 acres in Lahaina destroyed, per a Maui County press release.

The Maui Strong Fund, administered by the Hawaii Community Foundation, was quickly activated to collect and deploy financial resources to aid the people and places of Maui. Thus far, donations from around the world have totaled $120 million, which will help the community rebuild and assist with immediate and long-term needs, covering everything from food to housing and job recovery.

The SI Swimsuit Issue has a long, beautiful history with Hawaii, and the gorgeous Aloha State has been home to a number of photo shoots over the years, from Cheryl Tiegs’s 1970 cover to Irina Shayk’s 2011 front-page feature. Molly Sims also took part in an unforgettable photo shoot on Maui in 2000.

To give back to the island that has been so hospitable to our brand for decades, now through Nov. 1, all of SI Swimsuit’s portion of proceeds from cover prints purchased here will be donated to the Hawaii Community Foundation for the Maui Strong Fund.

Additional monetary donations to the Maui Strong Fund can be made here. Donors may pledge any amount they desire (with a minimum online gift of $10), 100% of which will be distributed to support the local community.
