Week of June 12
Taryn Rose, who brought luxury to the comfort category, is back as the creative spirit behind her namesake label. Her feminine styling is on full display with the Valentina, a ladylike fall ’17 military boot done in creamy ivory. “Boots are fantastic since nowadays they’re a year-round look,” said Rose.

Columbia Montrail is enticing city slickers to trade the crowded streets for picturesque paths this fall with updates to its run-ready F.K.T. Collection. The Rogue F.K.T., a lightweight style built to handle speed off-road, makes its way to retail in August in eye-catching colorways such as this neon-pop version for women.

Serena Uziyel’s fall ’17 mules are a Turkish delight. The designer behind the Sanayi 313 label said her Zarina style (whose name means “golden” in Persian) is rooted in the opulence of the Ottoman Empire. “Each layer of gold metallic threads is meticulously hand-constructed by artisans in our atelier, then assembled in Italy, creating depth and rich tonalities,” she said.

Who said designer sketches should be used only at the start of the shoemaking process? Malone Souliers has updated its Robyn flat for fall ’17 with playful doodles, presented as colorful embroidery on leather. The rough stick figures hark back to a childlike innocence, while also referencing Chinese pictograms.

Week of May 8
Best known for its summer sandals, Bernardo is wading deeper into the rainboot market this fall with a series of hip Chelseas. Its back-laced Paige style, done in the season’s pervasive shade of pink, is sure to take city streets by storm.

Opposites not only attract but make for an attractive pairing. Take, for instance, Tibi’s fall ’17 crushed-velvet Zuri pump in a shocking shade of pink. I love the juxtaposition of sharp tailoring worn with a shoe style that is its polar opposite,” said founder and creative director Amy Smilovic.

Week of April 10
The harshest conditions in the world are no match for Red Wing’s fall ’17 BRNR XP boot. The 6-inch work style is outfitted with a lightweight nano composite toe cap for intense protection and a slip-resistant Griptek sole that can take workers from the mine shaft to the oil rig — and everywhere in between.

Week of April 3
Supra has a fresh look for skateboarders when they’ve left the board behind. The brand’s Scissor sneaker, new for fall ’17, pairs a casual running aesthetic with performance skate design. Executed with rubber landing pads and a plush Suprafoam midsole, the shoe will hit stores in several eye-catching colorways.

The classic ballerina has never been so captivating. For fall ’17, French Sole New York elevated its popular ballet flat with a 2 1/2-inch block heel covered in hammered gold. For extra panache, the Trance X pump is adorned with ultra-soft Spanish velvet for a look that could grace any palace ballroom.

Week of March 20
Raf Simons and right-hand man Pieter Mulier debuted their first line for Calvin Klein at New York Fashion Week last month. But forget about making an entrance — their tangerine Deco pumps were all about the exit. The suede fall ’17 style, with a plastic vamp, features folded backs that take cues from the art of origami. In these heels, you’ll be the talk of the party, even on your way out.

Week of Feb. 27
Slippers are coming out from under the bed this fall as Free People takes at-home dressing to a luxe level with its Hideaway scuff. Detailed in color-blocked faux fur with a street-friendly sole, it’s perfect for any party host.

For fall ’17, Rebecca Minkoff is ready to rock ’n’ roll. “The collection is inspired by Anita Pallenberg and the Rolling Stones’ famed cross-country U.S. tour,” said the designer. Indeed, this ribbon-laced Selena bootie, with crystal stargazer embroidery, is built to play all night long.

Week of Feb. 13
There is no want of whimsy in footwear right now, but few have been at it as long as Charlotte Olympia Dellal — or accomplish it with such panache. For pre-fall, the designer took cues from Britain’s quintessential personalities, from the regal to the rebellious, to create this chunky heeled laceup.

Week of Jan. 30
Check out Sandra Choi’s disco remix. The Jimmy Choo designer defied categorization with the pre-fall Hustle 100 mule, a retro-tinged silhouette inspired by modern-day rock ingénues. With its tough-girl studs and playful metallic Galaxy print on leather, the look broadcasts an anything-goes attitude that’s straight out of Studio 54.

Week of Jan. 23
Dean and Dan Caten of Dsquared2 debuted an over-the-top take on hiking gear at their Milan Fashion Week show, embellishing boots with metal bear-trap clasps and piles (and piles) of crystals. Complete with a heavy lug sole and steel-plated midsole, this trail-ready style is a force of nature all in itself.

Week of Jan. 16
Pablo Coppola truly elevated the flip-flop silhouette with this Bally showpiece sandal, inspired by the traditional pokkuri platforms worn by an apprentice geisha. While the sturdy flatform might perhaps be difficult to navigate, the look is a reminder that great design always pushes the limits.

Week of Jan. 9:
Love Sorel’s iconic Caribou boot but wish it were just a tad sexier? Enter the Dacie Lace style. For fall ’17, the brand has refashioned its classic winter silhouette entirely in waterproof leather, outfitting it with a platform lug sole, sturdy stacked heel and shearling lining. Bring on the cold, because this boot is hot.
