Sheltersuit upcycles sleeping bags into coats for people experiencing homelessness.
The Netherlands-based organization creates water- and windproof coats that transform into sleeping bags. They then give the coats to people experiencing homelessness for free.
100 million people experience homelessness worldwide. Sheltersuit was founded in 2015 and says many of its workers are former refugees and people experiencing homelessness. The organization collects sleeping bags left over at festivals and donations from local companies to construct the coats. It also receives online donations to support its workplace.
