Shawn Mendes and Camila Cabello’s Hectic Schedules Allegedly Made Things “Different” Leading to Breakup

Just when we thought we knew all there was to know about Camila Cabello and Shawn Mendes' breakup, there's more. A source revealed that while the former couple got closer during the COVID-19 pandemic, things began to change as their work schedules got more intense.

According to People, the source said, "They had this intense relationship last year and spent months together during the lockdown in Miami. They both seemed very happy and looked like they enjoyed having a break from working." Camila taught Shawn how to speak Spanish during the quarantine period, while the crooner taught her to play the guitar.

The source continued, "Things are different now, though. It's more back to normal life. They have careers that are taking them in different directions. They went from spending every day together to now not really spending any time together."

On November 18, the duo announced their breakup through a joint statement posted to Instagram. "Hey guys, we've decided to end our romantic relationship, but our love for one another is stronger than ever," the statement said. "We started our relationship as best friends and will continue to be best friends. We so appreciate your support from the beginning and moving forward."

A source told E! News that Shawn was responsible for initiating the split, and the Cinderella star was "very upset over the split."

Since parting ways, Camila debuted a new hairstyle on Instagram while Shawn posted pictures of him surfing.
