Shawn Mendes brings love of hockey, ‘Harry Potter’ to ‘Carpool Karaoke’
To kick off his week-long stay at The Late Late Show with James Corden, pop sensation Shawn Mendes joined Corden for his signature Carpool Karaoke segment on Monday. Along with belting out hits like 2016’s “Nothing Holdin’ Me Back,” their trip through the streets of Los Angeles proved to be educational as well.Corden tried to teach Mendes a little something about road rage, encouraging the singer to roll down the window and yell at a passing driver. Mendes, who admits to never even using his horn while driving, was clearly not interested in learning more about road rage.Instead, the Canada native took Corden to a nearby ice rink and showed off some of his hockey skills. Mendes says he played for a couple years when he was younger and did look a bit rusty on the ice. Luckily playing alongside Corden will make anyone look like a pro.Mendes also broke down his love for the Harry Potter franchise, adding a different piece of Potter flare to his look each time the camera went back to him. But mostly they stuck to the carpool lane and doing what they both do best - belting out songs.The Late Late Show with James Corden airs weeknights at 12:37 a.m. on CBS.
