Sharon Stone explains why she is no longer dating

Sharon Stone has revealed she is no longer dating because she finds people to be “insincere” and not worthy of her time.

The Ratched star opened up about her decision during an appearance on The Drew Barrymore Show on Wednesday, where she said she’s “had it with dating.”

“I’m done dating, I’ve had it with dating,” the 62-year-old said. “I just find people to be insincere and not worth my time.

“And I enjoy my alone time and time with my kids and my friends more."

After Barrymore remarked that she feels like this is “a phenomenon that keeps happening,” Stone joked: “I just feel like I don’t need another kid,” prompting the actress-turned talk-show host to laugh.

“And I don’t want any insincerity, and bologna and game playing,” Stone continued.

Acknowledging that she doesn’t know how to phrase her feelings in a way that is “politically correct,” the actress said that she believes men and women are not “at the same place right now.”

"I have really good men friends but I just feel when it comes to emotional maturity in relationships that men and women are seemingly in different spots," the Basic Instinct star said.

Stone’s admission prompted Barrymore to question whether the actress, who has three sons, Quinn, 14, Laird Vonne, 15, and Roan, 20, addresses this belief through her parenting.

According to Stone, when her sons are having “some kind of guy conversation” in front of her, they will often say: “'We shouldn’t be doing this in front of mom,” which prompts her to steer the conversation.

“I say: ‘You shouldn’t be doing this in front of each other. Let’s talk about it, why are we having this conversation anyway?’” the actress said.

Stone also said there are “certain fears that boys and men have in the world today” about misunderstandings of power and “what it means to be masculine and what it means to be important” - and that she tries to teach her sons these are not “wholly correct.”

The Emmy winner concluded her comments joking: “So, here’s my boyfriend,” while holding up her dog Bandit.

Barrymore then proceeded to hold up her own dog, Douglas, and respond: "And here's my boyfriend and apparently we both like hairy men, so that's good."
