Since the premiere of Dancing With the Stars season 30, actor Brian Austin Green and pro Sharna Burgess haven’t been shy about showing PDA in the ballroom. But for folks watching at home who think the DWTS partners/real life couple are doing it to “gain more votes,” Sharna has a few words to say.

Ahead of Monday night’s episode, the 38-year-old Australian dancer posted behind-the-scene photos on Instagram of her and Brian practicing their tango routine for Britney Spears Night. In the caption, Sharna started off by making light of the criticism they’ve received and then got candid about what their experience has been like on the ABC competition series. In short, it’s not as easy as it looks.

"For those that say we kiss too much, here’s a full 🍑 grab instead 😂," she captioned the pics. "But for real though, we kissed once in the first show that’s it. This isn’t a showmance, this is real life love and it’s a part of our journey. Every step. Every struggle. Every success. And anyone that thinks it’s an advantage I can assure you, it’s not. ITS SUPER HARD!"

After receiving average scores during their first two weeks, in which they performed the rumba and foxtrot, Sharna admitted that she and the 48-year-old Beverly Hills, 90210 alum were pushing themselves harder for “scores to keep [them] in the competition” but it was emotional.

Sharna continued: “Coaching your boyfriend is hard, and having your girlfriend be the one to tell you all the s--t you’re doing wrong is also hard. I am still trying to find balance between how much I love him and how much I love to create and coach for perfection on this show. What I do know is I’m grateful for every second I get on that dance floor with him. What a dream to share this. 🙏🏻.”

“I’m so proud of you @brianaustingreen, and I’m so grateful for you. Your courage out there and your patience with me,” she concluded.

After hearing Sharna’s unfiltered thoughts, her fans immediately flooded her comments section with supportive and encouraging messages.

“I hate that you even have to explain this to followers on IG! Love you guys, for who you are and what you stand for! Rooting for you guys all the way! 🙌❤️,” one person wrote. “They’re just haters! You don’t need to explain your love or anything else! 🔥😍,” another added. “I love watching you both dance. Anyone complaining should get over it. Dancers are supposed to have chemistry, it’s even more special when the chemistry is real. ❤️,” a different fan said. “Don’t ever let anyone make you dim your light. You guys shine as bright as you damn well please!! You two are magic! ❤️❤️❤️ Kiss, love, dance!” a follower commented.

In the end, Sharna and Brian received a score of 19 out of 30. Despite the relatively low number, the duo was spared from elimination and moved on to the next round. There’s still plenty of time to continue improving and now they know that there’s lots of fans cheering them on.
