Shania Twain Reveals the Powerful Moment She Fell in Love With Her Husband

Shania Twain has definitely earned her title as the Queen of Country Pop. She is one of the best-selling female country artist of all time, and even ranks amongst the best of the best musicians in music history. The Canadian artist, who’s real name is Eilleen Regina Twain, has taken home Grammys for Best Country Song and Best Country Performance.
And while from the outside it might seem all that recognition leads to happiness, Shania has faced heartbreak in the past with her ex-husband, but is now focused on living her best life with executive Frédéric Thiébaud.
Inside Shania and Frédéric's love story:
From 1993 until 2010, Shania was married to music producer Robert John "Mutt" Lange. Robert produced Shania's second album The Woman in Me, and the two have a son together name Eja. Shania discovered her then-husband had been cheating on her with her best friend and personal assistant, Marie-Anne Thiébaud. Marie-Anne was also married when the two were having an affair. Marie-Anne's husband, Frédéric, informed Shania that their spouses were romantically involved, although she had already been suspicious.
After finding out about this infidelity, Shania and Frédéric provided emotional support for one another and bonded over the situation. "I got to observe Fred going through the same thing I was and I admired how he handled it," Shania told Redbook in 2011. "That is where I fell in love with him, because he was so exemplary in every way."
Not long after, in 2009, the two officially started dating. Just a year later in December 2010, the couple got engaged. Shortly thereafter, on New Year's Day in 2011, they got married in Rincon, Puerto Rico, surrounded by their closest friends and family.
Today, the love birds split their time between the Bahamas and Switzerland where Frédéric is an executive at Néstle. "I cannot live without him. I need that support. I just need what we have. It grounds me every day and reminds me that there are a lot of important things going on in the world. He keeps it all in perspective," Shania said in an interview with People.
On July 26, 2022, Netflix released a documentary titled Not Just A Girl that highlights Shania's rise to stardom and her career. The documentary mentions both her marriage to Mutt and Frédéric as well as touching on her vocal cord issues, which forced her to step back from her musical career. Along with the documentary, Shania released an album with her greatest hits called Not Just A Girl (The Highlights) to accompany the documentary. Her newest album, Queen of Me, came out in February, and Shania is currently in the midst of an international tour.
Frédéric recently made a surprise appearance at a concert, where he was serenaded for his birthday.
Shania and Frédéric's love story is truly an inspiration and goes to show that great things can come out of hard times.
