Shania Twain and Derek Hough get romantic on 'Lip Sync Battle'

Derek Hough battled Nicole Scherzinger on Thursday’s Lip Sync Battle, as the show paid tribute to Shania Twain. And even though Hough ultimately won the belt at the end of the night, he was there to claim a different prize: the evening’s guest of honor, Shania Twain. Before performing his last and what would be his belt-clinching song, “From This Moment,” Hough professed his boyhood love the country music icon. “I'm so glad there are so many people here tonight to witness my 16-year-old fantasy come true. I love you,” Hough said, looking right at Twain. As the song began, Hough pulled Twain from her seat and proceeded to use the song as backdrop for him to stage a fake proposal, a fake wedding and fake future family photos complete with two young blonde-haired boys. The performance sparked some ribbing from show commentator Chrissy Tiegen about coming off a little creepy, which Hough didn’t help by joking that it was all real. But Twain saw things a different way. “It was beautiful and I really did feel swept off my feet,” she said. Lip Sync Battle airs Thursdays at 10:30 p.m. on Paramount Network.
