  • "It's a story of love, laughter, and true grit, all elements that so strongly influence my song writing," the country star says.

Shania Twain is taking us to the heart of Texas!

The country pop queen has teamed up with production company Reel World Management to adapt Debbie Macomber’s beloved, bestselling book series Heart of Texas into a TV show.

The five-time Grammy Award winner will serve as an executive producer on the show alongside Roma Roth and Christopher E. Perry, the duo behind Netflix's Virgin River series.

Heart of Texas follows the lives and loves of siblings Savanah, Grady, and Richard Weston as they fight to keep the family ranch and legacy alive after the untimely death of their parents.

"Heart of Texas is an exciting project for me to be involved in as I very much relate to the dynamics and the powerful connection of friends and family of a small-town community," Shania said in a statement. "It's a story of love, laughter and true grit, all elements that so strongly influence my song writing."

Family drama, heartache, and intrigue in a small Southern town? We're picking up some major Sweet Magnolias vibes and we don't hate it!

Shania also took to her Instagram to celebrate the news, promising that the new series will have a "kick a** soundtrack!"

Shania spoke to The Hollywood Reporter about writing music for the series:

"I'll be able to write about love and loss and hardship and triumph. It's going to run the gamut in that sense. I'm still getting a feel for the sound and mood of the music. I'll be getting together with an arranger, and that's going to be new for me as well, getting involved with the actual scoring."

"As soon as I was pitched this idea, I fell in love with it," Shania said in her video post. "I'm so excited about it, and I can't wait to share it with you."

And we can't wait to watch!
