You probably already know that superstar Shakira and Gerard Piqué recently broke up after 11 years together.

Both have spoken publicly about the split. Shakira told Elle, "This is really hard to talk about personally — especially because I’m still going through it, and because I’m in the public eye, and because our separation is not like a regular separation. And so it’s been tough not only for me but also for my kids."

She also released a diss track, "Te Felicito (I Congratulate You)," where she called Gerard a "rookie" and suggested that he was unfaithful.
As for Gerard, he debuted a new relationship and told El País that he's focused on being a good father.
Well, the latest response in their back-and-forth is a subtle jab from Shakira, who accepted the Woman of the Year Award at the Billboard Latin Women in Music ceremony on Sunday.

Billboard translated the speech, in which Shakira said, "There comes a time in the life of every woman where she no longer depends on someone else to love and accept herself just as she is."

She continued, "A time when the search for someone else is replaced by the search for oneself."

Shakira added, "A time when the desire to be perfect is replaced by the desire to be authentic, and where finding someone who is faithful is less important than being faithful to ourselves."

So, yes, it sounds as if Gerard may have been unfaithful. But Shakira is adopting a positive, empowering outlook on the situation.
