Once in a while, Shakira emerges from whatever wildly cool thing she's been doing and makes us remember why she's such a legend. Case in point? Her recent appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. During one of the show's segments, she and Jimmy participated in the "Watch-It-Once TikTok Challenge" in an attempt to nail viral dance routines after watching them just one time. And let's just say if you ever doubted Shakira’s dance skills, think again.

Before the challenge even began, the Colombian superstar modestly said, “I don't know how to dance in high heels,” but then proceeded to blow the competition out of the water. (Sorry, Jimmy.) During the first dance, the two memorized a routine set to a song by Duke & Jones and Louis Theroux. Spoiler: They broke the rules right away by watching the video twice just to get the moves down. Jimmy went up first, and while he was pretty good, it was Shakira who nailed the choreography flawlessly.

The final round of the challenge, interestingly enough, was a TikTok video by Shakira herself to the song “Te Felicito” by the singer and Rauw Alejandro. So, you could say she had a small advantage. “I can’t even look at you, it’s so embarrassing,” Jimmy said once the “Hips Don't Lie” singer was done, which okay, don't blame him.

Ahead, a clip of the two going head-to-head:

Also on the show, Shakira sat down for an interview and revealed just how her kids came up with the idea for her “Te Felicito” music video.

“Can you believe?” she started. “I didn’t have any idea of what to do, but when I’m about to produce a video it’s like a white canvas. I have to kind of sit and think about what I’m going to do, and I had no idea what I wanted to do.” Shakira continued, “So I asked my kids to listen to the song, close their eyes. My little one, Sasha, came up with the robot idea. He said, 'Mom, I imagine you dancing with a robot.'” It was then that her other child, Milan, came up with the idea for the green fire in the video, and the rest was history.
