Actress Shailene Woodley joined The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon on Monday where she confirmed the rumors that she and Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers are engaged. Though knowledge of their relationship just became public a few weeks ago, Woodley said they’ve actually been engaged for a while, and nobody is more surprised than she is.

“He’s, first of all, just a wonderful, incredible human being, but I never thought I’d be engaged to someone who throws balls for a living,” Woodley said. “Like, I never thought as a little girl, I was like, ‘Yeah, when I grow up I’m gonna marry someone who—who throws balls! Yeah!’ But he’s really just so good at it.”

While Woodley knows enough to know that Rodgers is a very good QB, her knowledge of football, admittedly, is lacking. But she’s willing to learn.

“I have yet to go to a football game. Before I met him I’d never seen one football game before. I didn’t really grow up with sports, especially American sports. It was never really on my radar,” Woodley said. “When we met, I knew he was a football guy, but I didn’t know what kind of a football guy he was, and I’m still constantly learning.”

In fact, Woodley knows Rodgers more as the guy who’s excited about guest-hosting Jeopardy! than the three-time NFL MVP.

“I don’t know him as a football guy, I know him as the nerd who wants to host Jeopardy!, ya know? That’s the dude I know,” Woodley said. “He just happens to also be very good at sports.”

JIMMY FALLON: I keep reading that you are engaged to football great Aaron Rodgers. And is that true? Are congratulations in order?

SHAILENE WOODLEY: I mean, I've been reading that too, which is-- it's kind of funny.

JIMMY FALLON: Yeah.

SHAILENE WOODLEY: Yes, we are engaged.

KYLIE MAR: Just weeks after their relationship first became public knowledge, "Big Little Lies" actress Shailene Woodley joined the "Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon" where she confirmed that she and Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers are engaged. And nobody is more surprised than Woodley.

SHAILENE WOODLEY: He's, first off, just a wonderful, incredible human being. But I never thought I'd be engaged to somebody who threw balls for a living. Like, I never thought, as a little girl, I was like, yeah, when I grow up, I'm going to marry someone who throws balls! Yeah! But he's really just so good at it.

KYLIE MAR: Rogers was voted the NFL MVP for the 2020 season. So Woodley's assertion that he's just so good at throwing the ball appears to be correct. But she admits she still has a lot to learn about football.

SHAILENE WOODLEY: I mean, [INAUDIBLE] football game. Before I met him, I'd never seen one football game before. I didn't really grow up with sports. When we met, also, like I knew he was a football guy. But I didn't know, like, what kind of a football guy he was. And I'm still constantly learning.

KYLIE MAR: In fact, Woodley admitted to being more familiar with Rogers' interests outside of football.

SHAILENE WOODLEY: I don't know him as a football guy. I know him as, like, the nerd who wants to host "Jeopardy." You know, like, that's the dude I know.

JIMMY FALLON: He likes "Jeopardy?" I love that.

SHAILENE WOODLEY: He just happens to also be very good at sports.
