Ken Bone is now known as the man to spark a million memes after Sunday’s presidential debate. And he’s also inspired a Halloween costume in his likeness, one that goes far beyond borrowing your dad’s red Izod sweater.
The costume masterminds at Yandy decided to get in on the Bone action with a sexy costume inspired by the 34-year-old newly crowned internet sensation.
Sexy Ken Bone is the complete Ken Bone starter kit — if he happened to be a sorority girl dressing up for a semi-offensive mixer. The red sweater is transformed into a red crop top, and the kit also includes blue high-waisted pants, a white cropped undershirt, glasses, a faux mustache and even the microphone. The cost? $99.95.
Yandy started taking pre-orders on Tuesday and sold out its initial run “within four hours,” according to reps for the brand, which has all your sexy political Halloween needs covered, from a Donna T. Rumpshaker who promises to “Make America Great Again,” to a Capitol Hill costume featuring a blazer as a dress.
“It was clear before the debate had even ended who the real star was that night,” Yandy.com Founder and CEO Chad Horstman said in a statement. “The Ken Bone phenomenon has only picked up speed since, and we knew right away that a sexy costume version would be in huge demand this Halloween season.”
There’s no denying that the “Ken Bone Effect,” is very much real (his actual red sweater sold out on Amazon). But there’s also no shame in mimicking the real Ken Bone this year in all his normcore glory. Or maybe you might even consider his Plan A outfit — an olive colored suit which split down the seat of his pants when he was getting into the car to go to the debate.
