It's almost time to check back in with Otis, Eric, Maeve, and the rest of the Moordale Secondary gang from Netflix's hit teenage-comedy series, Sex Education. The show has secured a third season, as confirmed in a video announcement from Headmaster Groff (Alistair Petrie) earlier this year.

Three new faces will grace Moordale Secondary School.

In late September, Netflix confirmed the arrival of three new faces–Jason Isaacs, Jemima Kirke, and Dua Saleh–who will officially join the Sex Education family in the upcoming season.

Isaacs (who you might recognize as Lucius Malfoy in the Harry Potter films) will play Headmaster Groff's older and "more successful" brother. Kirke (from HBO's Girls) will portray Hope, Moordale's new headmistress. And Saleh (a singer-songwriter from Minneapolis) will play 'Cal,' a nonbinary student who disagrees with Hope.

Production has already started on the third season

Despite the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, Netflix announced in September that production has started on the series's third season.

Different cast members–including Gillan Anderson, Asa Butterfield, and Connor Swindells–appeared in separate video messages as they prepared to head back to set. Anderson briefly poked fun at still having "lockdown hair" while Butterfield geared up in a black face mask.

Netflix confirmed a new season in February 2020.

The streaming behemoth confirmed the news in a cheeky video featuring Alistair Petrie, who plays the chilling Headmaster Michael Groff.

Walking through the hallways of the makeshift Moordale Secondary, Petrie reflected on the different characters. Coming upon a portait of Ncuti Gatwa, who plays Eric Effiong, and Connor Swindells, who plays Adam Groff, Petrie said, "The pièce de résistance, Eric and Adam. I wonder what is in store for these two cherubs. Well, I suppose you'll have to find out in season three, won't you?"

There is currently no known release date for the show. While previous seasons have premiered in January, the drop of season three may be pushed back due to the coronavirus pandemic, following the lead of many other highly anticipated shows and movies.
