There it is! While walking the 2017 Met Gala red carpet, Serena Williams showed off her growing baby bump. Walking hand-in-hand with fiancé Alexis Ohanian, fans got a peak at the little bun in the oven as she donned a sleeveless emerald green Versace gown. And let's just say the tennis player was glowing.
"Do you know what it is?" Talley asked. "Do you know if it's a boy or a girl yet?"
"We're waiting. [It's] a surprise," Williams responded. "We call it 'baby.'"
Williams announced her pregnancy earlier this month via a Snapchat photo of her bump, which was captioned, "20 weeks." The tennis pro later admitted sharing the photo was accidental, but soon after shared an Instagram photo of her growing bump along with a sweet note to her little one. The 35-year-old has since taken a hiatus from the sport, and announced she will return to the court in 2018.
"My Dearest Baby, You gave me the strength I didn’t know I had," Williams wrote. "You taught me the true meaning of serenity and peace.
"I can't wait to meet you. I can't wait for you to join the players' box next year,” the post continued. “But most importantly, I am so happy to share being number one in the world with you.... once again today. On @alexisohanian bday. From the world's oldest number one to the world's youngest number one. -Your Mommy."
Williams and the Reddit co-founder were engaged in December of last year. Although little is known about wedding plans so far, she shared the news of her engagement via her Reddit account in the form of a poem. So romantic.
“I came home. A little late. Someone had a bag packed for me. And a carriage waited. Destination: Rome,” Williams wrote. “To escort me to my very own ‘charming.’ Back to where our stars first collided. And now it was full circle. At the same table we first met by chance. But by choice. Down on knee. He said 4 words. And I said yes."
So. Much. Love.
