The 509 is coming to the 806 later this month, bringing a taste of Seminole's popular drink shop to Lubbock.

The 509 Drink Shop initially opened in Seminole, at 509 Main Street, in January 2017. By the end of January 2023, owner Dawn Pinson said she hopes to open the Lubbock location at 6301 82nd St. #101.

"We've always wanted to venture out to a bigger town, and Lubbock is closer to our home," Pinson said. "The (location) we found just really seemed to be fitting."

The 509 Drink Shop offers a variety of plant-based energy drinks, fruit drinks and hot chocolate. Pinson's favorite drinks include the Frozen Horchata, Frozen Caramel Macchiato and the Sunset Punch.

"The Sunset Punch is my favorite, as far as the plant-based energy drinks," she said. "I kind of thrive on that when I'm running on a few hours of sleep. It's stronger than Red Bull, and is a healthier version."

Once the Lubbock location opens, customers should expect to see a "Texas Tech theme, with a twist of rustic."

"We just want to invite everybody to give us an opportunity to serve," Pinson said. "We really strive for a great experience, great customer service, and quality of our products."
