Last week, Chrissy Teigen shared her thoughts on Netflix's Selling Sunset and for the most part, she wasn't very impressed. The Cravings cookbook author wrote in a now-viral Twitter thread that the cast didn't phase her as being "as mean or insane" as fans were claiming. In fact, Teigen felt the behavior seen on the show was "pretty normal” for Los Angeles and noted that "everyone on tv plays up a character."

While the tweets drew a lot of attention regarding the agent's actual behaviors, she also made a comment about the star’s legitimacy as agents.

Teigen wrote that despite being familiar with the LA real estate market, she nor her agents had never heard of the women on Selling Sunset before. Fans took to the comments with mixed reactions—including some Selling Sunset stars themselves to kindly stand their ground.

Mary Fitzgerald wrote back to Teigen "Lol I’m in 6 escrows currently and have sold a few dozens of homes in the recent past. I’m sure whoever your agent is, if I haven’t had the pleasure of working with them yet, I will soon."

Heather Rae Young also chimed in thanking Teigen for watching the show and inviting her to the office to check out some of the brokerage's new listings. (The Oppenheim Group office seen on the show is located at 8606 Sunset Blvd in West Hollywood, California).

Not to mention, Chrishell Stause poked fun at Teigen's comment via Instagram Stories by writing "Staging starts tomorrow, hits the market Monday. I'm really a real realtor — LOL!”

Finally Jason Oppenheim, the founder of the Oppenheim Group brokerage stepped in to set the record straight. In a statement to People he said: "Mary, Heather, Maya, and Christine were licensed and successful real estate agents at the Oppenheim Group many years prior to filming our show. Amanza worked with us as a designer, and has been a close friend of Mary’s and mine for many years. Chrishell was a practicing agent at another brokerage, many years previous to filming Selling Sunset. As a licensed agent, Davina had transacted many deals before joining the team in 2018," he said.

He continued to tell the outlet that "any insinuation that the agents on our show are not experienced, successful, or licensed, evidences a complete disregard for the facts. Even a superficial investigation would identify previous team photos, hundreds of millions in transacted sales, and more than 50 years of combined licensed real estate experience from these agents."

Currently, there are no signs hinting that the Oppenheim Group or the work that the stars do as licensed agents and/or brokers is bogus. However, legal documents did recently reveal that Mary Fitzgerald had married Romain Bonnet prior to the show's filming, which would imply that parts of their relationship were indeed staged for the show.
