Tyler and Hall are two cast members on Netflix’s Selling The OC, a reality TV series following the personal and professional lives of agents at the high-end real-estate brokerage, The Oppenheim Group, in Orange County, California. The show, which premiered in 2022, is a spin-off of Netflix’s Selling Sunset, which is set in Los Angeles, California.
Tyler and Hall became a main storyline in Selling the OC Season 1 due to their close and controversial friendship during Tyler’s marriage to actress Brittany Snow, whom he married in 2020. Their relationship became even more controversial when Brittany announced in an Instagram post that she and Tyler were divorcing in September 2022, weeks after the premiere of Selling The OC. “After time and consideration, Tyler and I have made the difficult decision to separate. This decision was made with love and mutual respect for one another. We have realized we need to take some time and make sure we are each living our most fulfilling and authentic lives,” Snow captioned a black-and-white photo of her and Tyler at the time. “We started this journey as best friends and our relationship will continue to be a priority not only for us but for our dog Charlie. We sincerely appreciate your support and ask for privacy as we navigate this new chapter.”
Though Tyler and Hall denied any romantic relationship between them while he was still married to Brittany, that seemed to change during the Selling The OC Season 2 finale, which saw Tyler and Hall kiss for the first time at co-star Polly Brindle’s birthday pajama party. You are so different than anybody I’ve ever dated. You’re loud. You’re opinionated,” Tyler told Hall in the episode before their kiss. “You are a nightmare, and I genuinely love everything about you.”
Hall and Tyler attempted a relationship in Selling The OC Season 3, however, due to Tyler’s lack of communication and mixed messages, Hall rejected him for her relationship with an unnamed businessman who worked as a Global Marketing Director for TikTok. Things seemed to take a turn for the better in the Season 3 finale, however, when Tyler and Hall confessed their feelings for each other, including Hall telling Tyler that she felt more of a spark with him than her businessman boyfriend, which leaves us with the question: Are Tyler Stanaland and Alex Hall still together from Selling The OC and where are they now? Are Tyler Stanaland and Alex Hall still together from Selling the OC? The answer is no. Hall confirmed in an interview with People in May 2024 that she and Tyler are not still together and aren’t in contact.
“We don’t speak. I’ve accepted it at this point,” she said. “In the beginning, it was kind of confusing, and what’s going on?” She continued, “There were some revelations that surfaced right after we finished filming season 3, and so it gave me a lot more clarity and understanding of why he was behaving certain ways, and I was really able to have closure, because I could wrap my head around it. That’s not to say that it wasn’t shocking and confusing and hurtful, but it did give me clarity as to why he was behaving a certain way the entire season.”
Tyler and Hall also seemed to confirm in an interview with Us Weekly in September 2023 that they weren’t still together after their first kiss in the Selling The OC Season 2 finale.
“I think we’re still navigating our friendship. Obviously, you see in Season 2 [that] we explore some things. It leads to a steamy moment and I think we’re still kind of trying to figure it out, but we remain really close friends and I don’t have an answer [on where we stand] for you at the moment,” Tyler said at the time. Hall, for her part, teased that fans will “have to stick around [for] Season 3” to see what happened to her and Tyler’s relationship after their kiss.
She continued, “You see throughout season 2 the dynamic of our friendship, and it’s easy and it’s comfortable because there it is, just that. It’s a friendship. There’s no strings attached and I think adding that other element is scary. … Some things are awkward, you know what I mean? And you can’t avoid it. So we’re just navigating.”
Tyler also explained that he and Hall didn’t pursue a relationship after their kiss because of what’s “at stake” if they cross that line in their friendship. “It’s both a blessing and a curse to explore a relationship that starts out as a friendship,” he said. “There’s a lot of things that come with it and there’s a lot more at stake as well.”
Polly Brindle, Tyler and Alex’s Selling The OC co-star, told Us Weekly that she wasn’t surprised by their kiss in the Season 2 finale. “I was like, ‘Come on, guys, this is going to happen.’ You can feel it building up. It’s kind of like the Ross and the Rachel of the office,” Polly said, referring to the Friends couple. “I was all for it!”
Tyler and Hall also confirmed in an interview with Entertainment Tonight in September 2023 that they weren’t still together following their kiss in the Selling The OC Season 2 finale, choosing to focus on their “friendship” instead. “We are navigating our friendship right now,” Hall said. “That’s our priority.”
She continued, “You guys get to have a first look at what we went through. I think one thing about this show, and this cast is, we are all— most of us—we wear our hearts on our sleeves and we’re not afraid to give you guys 110 percent of us, and that also plays into Season 3 and where the finale of Season 2 left off with Tyler and I in the hot tub.”
Hall went on to tease her relationship with Tyler in Selling The OC Season 3. “I’m excited to see season 3,” she said. “I was very excited to watch season 2 and our moments, and the whole season and, altogether, I think was great and I think our friendship is cute. We have little time capsules now, sweet moments.”
As for why the kiss happened if they chose to stay friends, Tyler told USA Today in September 2023 that “there was a lot of buildup” in the lead up to his and Hall’s first intimate moment. “We were spending a lot of time together, and our friendship was also evolving. We had had a couple conversations before that of just like, ‘Is there something here? Is there not?’ And ultimately, we decided to put a pin in it and just be friends,” he said.
He continued, “For whatever reason, after 14 hours in the jacuzzi, it just kind of all started pouring out of me. I don’t really know why, that night, other than it just felt like the right time, right place.” Hall also confirmed to USA Today that she and Tyler are “still very close.” “We’re still very good friends, and just navigating uncharted territory,” she said.
Tyler also explained his hesitation of pursuing a romantic relationship with Hall. “She is very important in my life, and depending on the day, I think I’m important in hers, and so there was a lot more pressure to exploring what this is or may be,” he said. “We’re just delicately figuring it out.”
As for if their relationship could ever become romantic in the future, Tyler told USA Today, “Right now, I’m just taking it one day at a time, focusing on life and work and not overthinking everything else. Just seeing where the cards fall.” Hall added, “Less thinking, more feeling.”

Did Tyler Stanaland cheat on Brittany Snow with Alex Hall? The answer is no, according to him. In an interview on the “Reality Life With Kate Casey” podcast in 2022, Tyler explained that his Selling The OC co-star, Kayla Cardona, trying to kiss him during Season 1 led him to “set some hard lines and some boundaries and reconsider the social environment a bit” of the show.
He also denied there was any romantic relationship between him and Hall while he was married to Brittany, despite Hall sitting on his lap and giving him her version of a wet willy. “We’re all really tight friends,” he said. “There’s a respect; no lines will ever be crossed. Most of us are married or dating somebody, so there is kind of a set boundary there.” He continued, “It’s just a funny thing to do, and we’re a very tactile, touchy-feely group. It’s nothing sexual.”
Hall, for her part, also denied a romantic relationship with Tyler while he was still married to Brittany in an interview with Entertainment Tonight in 2022, in which she explained that her and Tyler’s “noseys”—their version of a wet willy in which one person covers the other’s person’s nose with their mother and blows air into the receiver’s face—was completely platonic.
“Most people have never seen that before,” Hall said. “So a nosey is, it’s not a sexual act whatsoever. It started with my mom doing it to our family dog, if you will. This is how disgusting it is. And then it graduated to doing it to us, her children. Now I do it to my kids. It’s just a funny thing to do, and we’re a very tactile, touchy feely group.”
She continued, “It’s nothing sexual. You’re not like, ‘Oh, I want to f—k you. Let me put my wet finger in your ear.’ No, you’re like, ‘Ew.’ It’s teasing. It’s just a teasy type thing. And the irony there is that Jarvis, again, wasn’t at the beach when that happened. And it happened multiple times. It wasn’t just at the beach. I mean, we have a couple of drinks. We just start… we’re silly.”
Hall also told Entertainment Tonight at the time that she had “no interest in Tyler” and denied comparisons to her and Kayla. “I adore him, I think he is the sweetest thing,” she says. “Do I think he needs to get a little bit more of a backbone? Absolutely. And I’ve had that conversation with him, but he kind of just wants to please everybody. You kind of see that. He’s just a nice guy. Nope. No interest in Tyler whatsoever,” she said.” And the difference there, between what I had done and what Kayla had done, which was not try to kiss Tyler. She tried to have sex with him on multiple occasions, and made him very uncomfortable. And he had asked her to stop multiple times. She didn’t. She continued. And with our situation, to me, there’s just no comparison. There’s really just no comparison.”
Hall also defended her behavior with Tyler while he was still married to Brittany in an interview with Page Six in 2022. “I don’t really have regrets because I, I would do it again,” she said at the time. When asked specifically about a scene where she and Tyler cuddled on the beach, Hall responded, “I don’t regret that. And anything that I did — that I have done on the show that people see — I don’t regret any of it.”
Hall did, however, admit to Page Six that “apologies have taken place,” confirming that she was “good” with Brittany prior to Tyler’s divorce from his ex-wife. “We went to his birthday party and — which Kayla wasn’t even invited to, if that kind of tells you where that stands — so I’m good with his wife,” Hall said, adding that she and Tyler were just “very good friends.” She continued, “The intention was always pure.”
Tyler and Hall first sparked dating rumors in September 2022 after they were photographed on what looked like a date at SOTA Sushi in Corona Del Mar, California, the same month Snow announced her divorce from Tyler. “Although Tyler and Alex spend time together and are very flirty, they aren’t a couple,” a source told Entertainment Tonight at the time. “Tyler is going through a breakup and isn’t focused on dating right now. Alex has been a good friend to Tyler. He’s been upset with everything that’s happened with his marriage and he’s leaning on friends like Alex to help him during this time.”
