Selena Gomez's 29th Birthday Pool Party Was Filled With Friends, BBQ, and Balloons
Selena Gomez marked her 29th birthday yesterday with the quintessential summer fête: a BBQ-filled backyard pool party. E! got details on the “low key” celebration from a very generous source. Gomez, the source made clear, had all the party essentials—good friends, good food, and cute, highly-Instagrammable balloon decor—and she had a wonderful time.
“Selena threw a BBQ pool party today at her house with her closest girlfriends and a few family members,” the source told the outlet yesterday. “It was really low key but she was excited to get everyone together to celebrate turning 29.”
Gomez rented a slide, had cake, and the group enjoyed margaritas and rosé.
“Everyone was having fun jumping in the pool together and going down the huge water slide she rented,” the source said. "There were balloons, pool toys and pink and white décor everywhere that said ‘29,’ ‘Selena So Fine’ and ‘HBD Selena.’”
It was a special day for Gomez, who got a celebratory toast. “She kept telling her friends how happy and grateful she was for them and was really appreciative,” the source said.
Gomez kept photos of her birthday party off of her Instagram for now. But her guests shared a couple glimpses of the party on their Instagram Stories.
Gomez's friend Paige Reed shared a glimpse of Gomez at the party alongside her and Gomez's other good friend Theresa Marie Mingus. Mingus is the co-founder of La'Mariette swimwear, and Gomez just released a collab with the brand. Reed also shared a look at the slide Gomez rented and the personalized balloons Gomez had from What’s Poppin balloons.
