Selena Gomez Walked Her First Red Carpet in 2019—Wearing Dior
Selena Gomez is slowly stepping back into the spotlight after taking some time off. On Thursday she walked her first red carpet of 2019 for a great cause—and in a great look.
Gomez made an appearance at We Day in Los Angeles. It's an event she's participated in many times before, the We Schools' education program being close to her heart. It marks her first red carpet in about a year, since she was promoting Hotel Transylvania 3 last summer. And for the occasion, she and stylist Kate Young picked out an incredibly elegant Dior dress.

Gomez accessorized the tea-length dress designed by Maria Grazia Chiuri with sleek pumps from Tamara Mellon. Stylist Young posted some of the behind-the-scenes getting-ready action on her Instagram, before sending Gomez off to the carpet.
The outfit may have leaned more toward classic, but Gomez's makeup was definitely more on the playful side. Hung Vanngo gave her a bright purple cat eye, which really popped against the sleek dress silhouette.

At We Day, Gomez was joined by celebs such as Natalie Portman, Sarah Michelle Gellar, and her pal Hailee Steinfeld. Earlier this week she opened up about therapy and body image on Coach's brand-new podcast, Dream It Real. (She's a spokesperson for the brand.)
Gomez had taken a social media hiatus over the past few months, but she popped back on Instagram in January to thank fans for supporting her. "It's been a while since you have heard from me, but I wanted to wish everyone a happy new year and to thank you for your love and support," she wrote.
