After taking time off last year to focus on her health and well-being, actress and singer Selena Gomez is again enjoying the spotlight in 2017. She landed a lucrative deal with Coach, made headlines this past week when she was spotted getting close to singer The Weeknd — with their rumored partnership quickly blowing up across social media — and a day later was featured in a sexy Instagram post.
Famed fashion photographer Mert Alas posted an image of the singer nearly nude, exposing her back tattoo and wearing nothing but a towel and a thong.

He captioned the image “Beauty and the Beast.” Although the location and details behind the photo shoot were not revealed, Alas works with many celebrities and models. He is known for his artistic style and has been published in top magazines around the globe. It’s safe to say that the 24-year-old Gomez and the photographer could be collaborating for an upcoming project.
Gomez is no stranger to baring all for the camera; her most recent album cover also featured her almost completely nude. In the tasteful shot, which the singer revealed was inspired by a Linda Ronstadt photo, she is actually wearing high-waisted shorts.

As an outspoken advocate for body positivity, Gomez wanted to send a message through the cover to push back at critics for the body shaming she endured in 2015.
“You have to understand that I dealt with a lot of body shaming this year and I’ve never experienced that before because I don’t care about that stuff, but I did start gaining weight, and I didn’t really mind it. I enjoyed it. I didn’t mind it,” Selena said on The Cruz Show at the time of her album release. “But man, it hurt. That was really hurtful. Because I’ve experienced people who have tried to control that kind of stuff before, and I think that I didn’t care. This is my time. I want to do it the way I want to do it.”
