Selena Gomez Played It Cool and Took 4 Days to Respond to Her Crush Cole Sprouse

Selena Gomez made it clear on her Instagram last week that she had a childhood crush on her fellow Disney Channel star Cole Sprouse. It got his attention immediately, and he commented on her post with a pun referencing the other guy she had a crush on, Juan. Gomez took roughly a week to reply back to Sprouse. It’s what you do when you’re causal, playing it cool, not always on Instagram, etc.

He commented, “always Juan-upping me.” She replied, four days later, “@colesprouse nice one 😂” It was a short, sweet, and chill response. Sprouse hasn’t said anything else publicly.

An adult Gomez-Sprouse romance isn’t really in the cards though. Sprouse is dating his Riverdale co-star Lili Reinhart and just shared four photos of them making out to mark her birthday last Friday. "Lil @lilireinhart was born on a Friday the 13th and haven’t I just been so lucky ever since?" he captioned it.

It comes shortly after Reinhart called Sprouse her “boyfriend” in an interview with Coveteur. She posted a love poem to him on his birthday last month, which helped fuel rumors that despite reports they took a break earlier this summer, she and Sprouse really are dating still. She wrote:

Gomez is single. In July, a source told E! that Gomez is "open to start putting herself out there again. She is taking everything day by day and focusing on herself and her music."
