Selena Gomez took to Instagram on Thursday to open up about her experiences with mental health while promoting a new campaign she is working on with her beauty company, Rare Beauty.

"I know first hand how scary and lonely it can feel to face anxiety and depression by yourself at a young age," the singer wrote in a post. "If I had learned about my mental health earlier on—been taught about my condition in school the way I was taught about other subjects—my journey could have looked very different."

Because of this, Selena is starting Mental Health 101 in conjunction with Rare Impact for Rare Beauty. The goal of Mental Health 101 is to increase mental health education and support in schools. "I hope that Mental Health 101 will be the stepping stones for others that I wish I had," Selena wrote.

You can head to the Rare Beauty site for more info on the campaign and you can sign Selena's petition to "mitigate the mental health crisis by providing mental health services in schools" on Change.org. If you have the means to do so, you can also donate to the Rare Impact Fund, which is raising money to support the initiative.
