How Selena Gomez Celebrated Her Birthday

Selena Gomez definitely knows how to throw a spectacular summer birthday bash. The Rare Beauty founder commemorated turning 29 on July 22 with a few of her besties and a giant water slide, E! News reports.

In case your invitation to the intimate gathering never showed up, E! News received all the details from a reported source, who claimed that a few of Selena's close friends and family members were invited over for a backyard bash. “It was really low key but she was excited to get everyone together to celebrate turning 29,” the source said.

According to the source, Selena celebrated by renting an oversized water slide, and guests spent the day swimming and snacking. Of course, the celebration also included some special decorations. “There were balloons, pool toys and pink and white décor everywhere that said ‘29,’ ‘Selena So Fine’ and ‘HBD Selena,'” the source reported. Elle posted a few screengrabs of Instagram Stories from the party, which had guests posing with the oversized pink balloons.

Among those invited to the party were Paige Reed and Theresa Marie Mingus, co-founder of La'Mariette Swimwear, Elle notes. Posing for a selfie at the celebration, Selena stood alongside her friends, wearing a glitter-filled eyeshadow and floral top. Her birthday manicure, which featured a coat of red-orange polish, coordinated with the colorful look.

Selena reportedly took a portion of the day to thank her guests, the source also shared. “She kept telling her friends how happy and grateful she was for them and was really appreciative."

Selena also celebrated the birthday milestone with fans on social media. Holding her dog Winnie, who was accessorized appropriately for the occasion, Selena thanked all those that had wished her well. “You guys are the best!" she wrote. "I still can’t believe it’s been a year since we launched the @RareBeauty Rare Impact Fund. For my birthday this year, I would be so grateful if you’re able to donate to the Rare Impact Fund which helps to provide mental health services to those who need it most."
