Selena Gomez has apologised on TikTok after fans accused her of mocking Hailey Bieber.

Despite the fact Hailey and Justin Bieber have been married since 2018 (and that he split from Selena Gomez months prior), the internet seems to be obsessed with pitting Hailey and Selena against each other.

Take Selena's latest TikTok for example. The 29-year-old singer posted a fairly ethereal video of her skincare routine, showing her putting on under eye masks and spritzing a facial mist over her face.

While many fans loved the insight into her beauty routine, others speculated that the video was mocking Hailey Bieber, 25, who had recently posted a nighttime skincare routine of her own.

Despite the fact there was no mention of Hailey, and Selena has always had an interest in beauty and skincare, some of the comments (via E!) read, "LOL I know who she's referring to" and "Wait…is she trynna make fun of you know who? [sic]"

The comments on Selena's video are now turned off, but not before she left a message apologising for any misinterpretations of her TikTok, and insisting she meant no ill will.

"This is why I believe in taking care of your mental health," Gomez wrote. "Guys no idea what I did but I really am sorry. Zero bad intention. Deleting soon."

Back in April 2022, Hailey begged people to stop leaving comments about Selena and Justin on her social media page, in a video captioned, "This is for you guys in my comments every single time I post."

She said to the camera, "Leave me alone, at this point... I'm minding my business, I don't do anything, I don't say anything. Leave me alone, please. Enough time has gone by where it's valid to leave me alone, I beg of you truly. That's my only request, leave me alone... be miserable somewhere else."

Can't we just all get along?
