Taylor Swift started the Billboard Music Awards by making personal history. The singer just sang her and Panic! at the Disco's Brendon Urie's song "ME!" live for the first time. The performance was elaborate, energized, and well, pastel-filled. This is the TS7 era, after all, and pastels have been Swift's thing for weeks. Urie flew in on an umbrella; Swift entered in to a marching band; the two ended the performance on their own rainbow parasol above the ground. Swift's ex Joe Jonas was impressed, as was everyone else in the crowd when it ended.

Billboard and fans immediately shared clips of the performance online, which you can watch below:

Swift is nominated for two awards tonight: Billboard's Top Female Artist award and the Top Touring Artist award. Swift finished her Reputation tour last year, which was record-breaking in how much it grossed. The tour sold over 2 million tickets in the U.S.

Swift's song "ME!" came out just last Friday. Swift announced that morning that she would be performing at the Billboard Music Awards. As for what "ME!" is about, Swift told the world hours before the song even came out: It's a self-love anthem.

"'ME!' is a song about embracing your individuality and really celebrating it, and owning it," she told Robin Roberts in Nashville Thursday night. "I think that with a pop song, we have the ability to get a melody stuck in people’s heads, and I want it to be one that makes them feel better about themselves."

Swift hasn't revealed yet when her seventh album's next single will be out. But she could offer hints later tonight as the singer watches the rest of the show and maybe, just maybe, wins an award and gets to go up and make her first acceptance speech since she released new music.
