See the stats: Demi Lovato’s staggering success

Ever since she broke out on the Disney Channel a decade ago, Demi Lovato’s career has been hitting high notes. After winning fans with two “Camp Rock” movies with the Jonas Brothers in 2008, she got her own show, “Sonny With a Chance.” That role nabbed her a win for “Choice TV - Breakout Star,” the first of 14 (!!) Teen Choice awards. Flash forward to 2018 and the 25-year-old singer, songwriter, and actress keeps breaking her own records. Embracing her Latina roots, she’s sings in Spanish on Luis Fonsi’s latest track, “Échame la Culpa.” The video has more than 1.2 billion views on YouTube, a record for Lovato. “I love singing in Spanish. I love being able to represent the curvy sassiness of a Latina woman,” she said. With six albums, more than 140 songs, and multiple collaborations under her belt, Lovato is on fire! The love is mutual with her 67 million Instagram followers — aka the “Lovatics.” Lovato shares a lot with them, remaining vocal (and inspirational) about her struggles with substance abuse and mental illness. She recently posted about her sobriety milestone: “Today is a very special day for me... I'm officially celebrating 6 years of sobriety!! A huge part of my recovery was learning to love myself and to give back to others." The 2018 Billboard Music Awards will mark a special day when she takes the stage with one of her idols, fellow Latina Christina Aguilera for “Fall in Line.” “It’s such an honor to lend my voice to this anthem for women with one of the most inspiring individuals I’ve ever met,” Lovato said. Lovato is also nominated for three awards, including Top Female Artist. She’s up against Taylor Swift, Camila Cabello, Cardi B, and Halsey. Good luck, Demi — the competition is fierce!
