After announcing the arrival of her son on February 9, Princess Eugenie and Jack Brooksbank have shared the first portraits of the newest royal baby. This morning, Eugenie posted a few gorgeous photos of the newborn on her Instagram account. (Swipe through to see them all.)

"We wanted to introduce you to August Philip Hawke Brooksbank.. 💙💙💙⁣" she wrote in the caption. "Thank you for so many wonderful messages. Our hearts are full of love for this little human, words can't express. We are excited to be able to share these photos with you.⁣"

She also added that the pictures were taken by her midwife. "Thank you to the wonderful essential workers including our midwife who came to discharge our boy," she continued.

In her stories, Eugenie shared that her child is named for his great grandfather Prince Philip, and both of his "great x5 grandfathers."

Royal watchers were delighted to hear about the new arrival earlier this month. "Her Royal Highness Princess Eugenie was safely delivered of a son today, 9th February 2021, at 0855hrs at The Portland Hospital. Jack Brooksbank was present," read a statement released that day. It noted that the baby boy weighed 8 pounds and 1 ounce, and that both Eugenie and her son were "doing well."

Their family members, of course, quite excited themselves. "The Queen, The Duke of Edinburgh, The Duke of York, Sarah, Duchess of York, and Mr and Mrs George Brooksbank have been informed and are delighted with the news," the statement continued. Eugenie and Jack's son is the ninth great-grandchild of Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip, and the first grandchild and Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson.

Prince Charles and Camilla also publicly celebrated the new arrival, sharing a tweet on the Clarence House Twitter account that read, "Congratulations to Her Royal Highness Princess Eugenie and Jack Brooksbank on the birth of their son." For their part, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle—who currently don't have a public presence on social media—congratulated Jack and Eugenie privately.
