We love a good social media trend and one of the current viral sensations has shot up to become our favourite of all time. Introducing: the ‘Teenage Dirtbag’ trend. People on TikTok and Instagram are using a sped up version of Wheatus’ iconic song ‘Teenage Dirtbag’ to show pictures of when they were younger and in their, well, ‘dirtbag’ phase.
Of course, the trend has completely blown up – with #TeenageDirtbag receiving over 578.6 million views on TikTok alone. Along the way, celebrities have gotten on board, too, including Paris Hilton.
Yep, in the ultimate ‘hold my drink’ move, Paris dug through the archives and pulled out some truly epic ‘Teenage Dirtbag’ moments, which included some iconic beauty looks from over the years. In the caption, she wrote: “So sorry to everyone else but I win this trend 👑💖✨ #Sliving 🔥”. And I mean, she wasn’t lying.
Starting with a recent short video of herself in a hot pink velour tracksuit and holding a bedazzled Hello Kitty mirror (because, why not?), she wrote on the clip: “✨ this trend when you were one of the most iconic y2k teens ✨”.
Suddenly, the video starts running through some of Paris’ most memorable looks from the 00s, starting with messy, rockstar hair and a completely see-through mesh vest (she covered herself with black emoji hearts, lol).
In another picture with her sister Nicky Hilton Rothschild, Paris is sporting a metallic suit, with some of the tiniest short, shorts ever and that suuuuper long hair, which reaches her hips. In fact, as she’s topless, she even used her extensions for a hair bra moment.
The rest of the video shoes her rocking a sky-high quiff while speaking to Britney Spears, XXL extensions in a half-up do while chilling on (what looks like) a boat, mini pigtails in a double denim moment with Nicole Ritchie and even that signature choppy bob.
