Teen invited his crush to the Homecoming dance in the sweetest way

Homecoming season is around the corner and it seems teens get more creative and romantic each year.

Sam Dutcher shared on Twitter the special way she got proposed to for the homecoming dance. The sweet tweet, which has more than 37,000 likes, shows a printout of one of Sam’s tweets from a few weeks ago, which reads, “Sunflower season is almost over and it makes me so sad I didn’t even get cute pics or a bouquet this year. More sunflowers everywhere please.”

Avinash Pai got inspired by Sam’s love of sunflowers and decided to include them in his homecoming proposal.

He gifted Sam a bouquet of sunflowers, a yellow box that contained the book Happiness Is . . .: 500 Things to Be Happy About, and a poster that read, “Will you be my sunshine at hoco?”

He says he got the box from Michael’s and painted it yellow himself.

Avinash also chose to wear a yellow shirt to complement the sunflower-themed invitation.

And the Twitterverse can’t get enough of these two lovebirds. They have received over 7,000 retweets and 130 comments.

Hopefully they have a wonderful time at homecoming and keep us — and 37,000 other fans — updated with cute photos of their special night.
