Marvel had an extra hidden surprise for WandaVision fans last Friday night — but only if they stuck around long enough to see it.

On March 5, the first season of the popular Disney+ series ended with an action-packed finale that featured a magic-slinging fight between Agatha Harkness (Kathryn Hahn) and Wanda (Elizabeth Olsen). Although Wanda ended up outsmarting the evil Agatha, she was forced to say a tearful goodbye to Vision (Paul Bettany) and their two sons to release the residents of Westview from the Hex.

In the last few minutes of the episode, we see a somber Wanda fly off into the sky. While some may have thought that Wanda exiting Westview was the definitive end to WandaVision, those who are familiar with Marvel movies know that the comic-book franchise frequently sticks an extra scene after the credits to lead viewers into the next MCU adventure. WandaVision was no different, but instead of having just one bonus scene, fans were given two, each with separate meanings behind them.

What do the WandaVision post-credits scenes mean?

The first featured Jimmy (Randall Park) and Monica (Teyonah Parris). After Jimmy and Monica connect following the end of the Westview Hex, Monica is confronted by a disguised Skrull agent who was "sent by an old friend of her mother's." The Skrull then asks if she can take Monica to meet with this mysterious friend, who is apparently located somewhere up in the sky.

According to WandaVision fan theories, this post-credits scene is likely hinting that in the next MCU chapter for Monica — which we'll see play out in the Captain Marvel 2 movie in November 2022 — we'll see her meet with Nick Fury (Samuel L. Jackson), who is believed to be operating Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. and/or a division of S.W.O.R.D from the sky. From there, it's expected that the existing tension between Monica and Captain Marvel (Brie Larson) will be explored.

So that's the first post-credits scene, but there was one more for fans who waited around a few minutes later. The second focused on Wanda, who was seen sitting on the porch steps of an isolated cabin by herself. As her tea kettle starts whistling, Wanda walks inside to pour water into her mug. While Wanda fixes herself a cup of tea, the camera goes into a dark back room where we see a red-eyed Scarlet Witch reading the "book of the damned" that Agatha used to possess. Suddenly, Scarlet Witch hears the cries of her two boys asking for help and looks up from the book. And just like that, the scene ended.

As far as analyzing this bonus scene goes, fans should first know that Wanda is already set to appear in the upcoming movie Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, out in March 2022. The prediction is that Wanda, now embracing more of her untapped powers as Scarlet Witch, might wind up facing off against Doctor Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch) to try to bring back her children. Then again, perhaps Doctor Strange will help Wanda learn more about her powers and join forces with her. It's anyone's guess at this point whether Strange and Wanda will be friends or foes in the future, but rest assured we will get answers next spring.
