From Oprah Magazine

  • Netflix renewed Selling Sunset for seasons 4 and 5 in March of 2021.

  • While there's no official release date, we predict season 4 will drop in late 2021 or 2022.

  • Season 4 will likely cover Heather Rae Young and Tarek El Moussa's wedding, Christine Quinn's baby, and Brett and Jason Oppenheim's competing brokerage firms.

Your favorite real estate agents are coming back. In fact, it appears that the cast of Selling Sunset will be sticking around for years. The hit Netflix reality show was renewed for seasons 4 and 5, per Deadline.

While exciting, the renewal news isn't much of a surprise to Selling Sunset fans who follow the cast members' ever-unfolding lives off-camera. Christine Quinn—one of the agents on the show—declared that the series was continuing in October 2020.

"Jason has confirmed we've been picked up for another series, but we're kind of waiting," Quinn said during an appearance on This Morning in the U.K, per Metro UK. Apparently, filming has been stalled due to the coronavirus pandemic.

That doesn't mean our imaginations have stalled. Behold, a few of the most pressing questions for season 4 of Selling Sunset to address: Will Chrishell Stause recover from her sudden, surprise divorce from This Is Us actor Justin Hartley? Will Maia Vander go through with her plan to relocate to Miami? Will Tarek El Moussa appear on camera in the lead-up to his wedding to Heather Rae Young? How will Christine and her husband, Christian Richard, approach parenthood?

Selling Sunset has been renewed through season 5.

Which is a relief—because season 3 ended on quite a cliffhanger. The finale was filmed at Christine's lavish wedding to a tech businessman in December 2019. (Christine alleges she had coronavirus at her wedding.)

At the wedding, agent Davina Potratz accused her fellow real estate agent Chrishell of not telling the full story of her sudden divorce from Justin Hartley. "Obviously, Justin has his own side, right? That's all I'm saying," Davina told Chrishell. "You don't get married to get divorced. You know that, right?"

Instead of engaging with Davina, who is known for getting involved in colleagues' relationships (see: the moissanite ring debacle), Chrishell chooses to leave the party. What's next? How will their relationships have evolved by the time the cameras are back?

There's no telling when season 4 of Selling Sunset will premiere.

Obviously, the coronavirus pandemic led to widespread delays in film and TV, but shows are beginning to film again. Selling Sunset is poised to resume filming this spring, with the new season likely to come out in late 2021 or 2022.

Living in Miami, Maya has to "find out logistically" how she'll be able to return.

While the rest of the cast appears to be signed on for season 4 (aside, perhaps, from Brett), Maya is on the fence. Speaking to RadioTimes, Maya revealed that she has relocated to Miami and is busy raising two children. While she expressed the desire to be in season 4, she has to “find out logistically how the heck [she’s] gonna do it."

“I want to be part of Selling Sunset. I think it’s a great show and it gives me a lot of opportunities with everything, frankly, not even just real estate,” she said. “I always figure things out somehow and I think there is always a solution for everything.”

Davina left the Oppenheim Group, which means her future on the show is uncertain.

Following season 3's release, Davina Potratz revealed she was leaving the Oppenheim Group and is now working with Douglas Elliman agency. “It’s not that I wanted to leave, but I had a great opportunity. It was a purely business decision," she told People.

However, she still hopes to be featured in Selling Sunset. “We all know each other so well, so I think they’ll be excited and supportive,” Potratz said. “I certainly hope that I’m still part of the cast,” she added.

Season 4 might feature Heather Young's wedding to Tarek El Moussa.

Naturally, it wouldn't be a season of Selling Sunset if there weren't another wedding to anticipate. First came Mary Fitzgerald, then came Christine Quinn—and after her recent engagement to HGTV's Tarek El Moussa, we suspect that Heather Rae Young will be the next Oppenheim agent to walk the aisle.

There's just one question: Will the wedding be shown on Selling Sunset, like Mary and Christine's? So far, Tarek hasn't appeared in the Netflix show, even though he was present at some of the events depicted. For example, one of Heather's Instagram posts shows that Tarek was her date to Christine's wedding, which was the focus of the season 3 finale.

Speaking to People, Heather revealed that Tarek will appear in a future episode, thanks to an agreement between HGTV and Netflix. "I'm so excited to have him on camera with me and film with him,” Heather said.

It's possible the couple's wedding will be televised in some form. Tarek and Heather both have their own reality TV obligations: He is on HGTV's Flip It and Flip or Flop; she's on Selling Sunset. However, the wedding might not be on Selling Sunset, but on one of his shows—or a special of its own.

But according to Heather, the couple hasn't decided whether to show the wedding. "I don’t know if I would want it all out there for everyone to see,” she told StyleCaster in May 2020. “I’m not sure yet. I would have to have that discussion with [Tarek] and see how we felt in regards to that. It is so amazing for Christine and Mary to be able to look back and have those memories on camera forever. I’d have to talk to my man and see what he says.”

Christine Quinn is expecting a baby with Christian Richard.

You know how it goes: First comes the Gothic fairytale-themed wedding, then comes the baby. Or at least, that's how Christine Quinn and Christian Richard's relationship has progressed.

Christine announced her pregnancy in a spread in People in February 2021. "We are so grateful to be expecting our first child," she said. "I'm so ready for what this next chapter holds and cannot wait to be a mom!"

She hasn't revealed whether she's expecting a boy or a girl, but she previously told Metro UK that she hopes she has two boys. "I can’t even imagine like trying to tame a little Christine," she said.

Another plot twist? Brett and Jason Oppenheim now have competing brokerage firms.

After season 3 was released, we learned that Brett Oppenheim—the more quiet of the twin brothers—left the firm that he started with his twin brother and formed his own. Cue dramatic music.

Brett now owns Oppenheim Real Estate, not to be confused with the Oppenheim Group. "Brett has left to start his own brokerage," Christine confirmed to Glamour. "We don't know who will move where. It may be the battle of the brokerages! I think season four is going to be the juiciest season ever." Will any of the Oppenheim Group agents join the new firm? Maybe Brett will let Maya start a Miami office, like she had asked Jason.

Making dramatic real estate-related decisions runs in the Oppenheim brothers' blood. Brett's bio on his new website claims that he is the "fifth generation of his family to practice real estate in Los Angeles."

Season 4 might focus on Chrishell's new life as a single woman.

After two years of marriage and six years as a couple, Justin Hartley filed for divorce from Chrishell Stause—and she didn't see it coming. Season 3 of Selling Sunset deals with the painful fallout of Hartley's surprise divorce filing. By the end of the season, Chrishell has moved to her own home, and is determined to begin anew.

Since the show aired, Chrishell appeared on Dancing With the Stars; had a whirlwind romance with dancer Keo Motsepe; and ended said relationship. In the aftermath of the split, Chrishell joked on Instagram that she is "off men" for the time being.

No matter what happens in season 4 of Selling Sunset, we'll be cheering her on.
