'Scream' Turns 25 This Year. Here's Where the Cast Is Now.
Ghostface made his big screen debut for the first time twenty-five years ago. That's right, it's been a full quarter century since Scream premiered, and yet it remains one of the most iconic and influential horror-satires ever. The year was 1996, and the most famous member on the cast at the time, Drew Barrymore, had a major twist up her sleeve. While she was used to promote the film, she actually dies in the first few minutes of the runtime. (Oops, spoiler alert.) It was absolutely unpredicted, and defined a franchise that would go on to be revered for its willingness to surprise in a way few others are.
What's even better, Scream still has all its major players in place. (Except, of course, the mastermind behind it all, Wes Craven.) But even with him gone, Scream is celebrating a 25-year heyday as it also weighs a pending fifth installment, to be released in early 2022,. Here's what the cast looked like way back when... and where they're at now.
