A look back at those who inspired the world's first Surrealist fashion designer
Elsa Schiaparelli was born on Sept. 10, 1890 in Rome, Italy. Known as a Surrealist, comedian, and fashion visionary, her groundbreaking designs were unmatched. She merged fashion and art, mixing unusual shapes with fabrics in a way no designer had done before. Clothing became an extension of her personality. Hailed as the Godmother of avant-garde, she invented the now commonplace artist collaboration, frequently inspiring and working with Surrealist artist Salvador Dalí. Although her house closed in 1954, it was revived in 2012. Throughout the course of its history, notable figures influenced the house's work, ensuring the longevity of Schiaparelli's legacy.
Anonymous: I have been across our borders numerous times in the last few years, and I find our border patrol agents to be courteous and professional. Like any law enforcement agency, there are tough times. I have a great deal of respect for the men and women of the border patrol. Hopefully, our left leaning press and politicians will stop trying to make them the villians.
